Ryan Norman received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Michigan in 2009. He received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, in 2012 from American University Washington College of Law, where he was a member of the Mock Trial Honor Society and a recipient of both the Dean’s Award for Professional Responsibility and the Mooers Trophy for Outstanding Achievement in Trial Advocacy. Following law school, he was appointed as an assistant district attorney at the New York County (Manhattan) District Attorney’s Office. There, he spent nearly four years investigating and trying a wide range of misdemeanor and felony cases in the trial division. In 2016, he joined the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia as an assistant United States attorney. At the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ryan spent time in the Appellate Division defending convictions attained in the District of Columbia Superior Court before rotating to the office’s Felony Major Crimes Section, where he currently prosecutes violent crimes at the local level in Washington, D.C.
